I share your frustrations about Yahoo site explorer. When I choose the option "structured data feed" for my sitemap a button appeared that said "Validate" When I clicked it, it said my feed was NOT a structured data feed, so I submitted my sitemap as a "site feed" instead.

It seems like you have to submit your website more than once for Yahoo to index you, although my site still shows up in Yahoo's SERP even when it's not indexed at all.

I was looking for an answer to the same question and decided just to perform the test: I kept "Website Feed" selected (default option) and entered an address of my .xml sitemap.

It seems that everything worked OK, but after the submission feed type field changed to "Site Explorer feed".

All the best,
Evgeni

Hi Kevin

I've tried submitting sitemaps as website feed and structured data feeds but I had become so frustrated with the non-usability of the yahoo site explorer interface that I forgot scientific method and didn't record the results.

On my return a couple of days later, it turns out that (at least) one of the options must have worked as the sitemaps were accepted.

But, big thanks for the direct link to the hidden Submit a Site Feed page - I've bookmarked this to avoid the pain in future and used it earlier today to add a new xml sitemap for a recent development.

Thanks again
